Our Mission and Vision

Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20

Our Mission

The mission of the Church of the Redeemer is simple:
Know God and Make Him Known.

In John 17:3, Jesus prays, “This is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” To know someone means more than knowing facts about that person. You know someone by sharing life together.

It helps to know things about God, but we seek to know the Father in a deeper way - through a relationship with his Son Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit at work within us.

We believe that is done primarily in the life of the church. There are qualities of the early church found in Acts 2:42-47 that we seek to emulate here at Redeemer. These qualities are Bible study, fellowship, hospitality, prayer, care, mission, generosity, and worship.

What this looks like at Redeemer

  • Worship rooted in Scripture and the ancient liturgy of the church

  • Praying for one another and the community throughout the week

  • Sharing meals and fellowship after our Sunday services

  • Caring for families, children, and visitors

  • Serving our Camden and Elizabeth City communities

  • Walking through every season of life… together

As we share this way of life, we will know God and make Him known!

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a spiritual harbor of hospitality where new and abundant life overflows in and around us.

Jesus came to offer eternal life, a new and abundant life that we don’t have for heaven to begin experiencing. We can experience it now, in our day-to-day lives.

That is why we seek to be that spiritual harbor of hospitality. We want people to feel welcomed and cared for when they come to Redeemer so they can get a taste of eternal life… now.

We have made room for you here at Redeemer! Come and see!
